Coverage and boundary exceptions

This hub covers the listed service pages in the City of Sydney, Inner West and Burwood districts. Newtown crosses the City of Sydney–Inner West boundary, so it is included once here as part of the connected inner-city/inner-west service area. Burwood is a separate council area but forms the western end of this same established urban corridor. This hub does not imply blanket coverage of every suburb inside those councils.

Landscape and places where snakes may be encountered

This is a heavily urbanised region bounded and shaped by Sydney Harbour, the Parramatta River and the Cooks River. Hawthorne Canal, Whites Creek, Johnstons Creek, Alexandra Canal and smaller stormwater routes connect parks, rail land, industrial sites and residential blocks. Snakes may be noticed in courtyards, gardens, garages, storage areas, loading yards, school grounds, foreshore parks or vegetation beside canals and drainage lines. Keep people and pets back and avoid trying to catch or corner the animal.

Sydney CBD, Balmain, Rozelle and Leichhardt combine dense built form with foreshore parks, older gardens and harbour-edge movement corridors.

Central and western inner west

Southern and eastern inner west
