Stay on formed ground and keep dogs and children away. Do not enter stormwater drains or waterside vegetation to follow the animal. At a public reserve, notify the responsible site staff and give the nearest marked entrance rather than an approximate lakeside location.

Identify the gate and whether the animal is beside a shed, fence or storage area. Keep vehicles and equipment out of that spot. If it disappears, preserve the last observation instead of lifting materials to find it.
