Arranging a call-out

Our office checks catcher availability and location before arranging attendance. Ask about the expected arrival time, call-out fee and what the fee covers. Traffic, access and other jobs can affect timing.

How our dispatch works

Suspected snakebite: call 000 immediately. Keep the person still and follow emergency instructions. If a pet may have been bitten, contact a vet urgently.

Industrial premises and the national-park boundary

Mount Kuring-gai has an established industrial precinct as well as residential areas. Hornsby Council’s employment planning identifies it as one of the Shire’s industrial locations. To the east, the Mount Ku-ring-gai walking track connects with Berowra Station through Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. Specify whether your call concerns a workplace, home or walking track.

Should staff move pallets to keep the snake visible?

No. Keep people and machinery out of the immediate zone. Record the last pallet, bay or doorway from a safe position and explain the layout to the catcher. Moving stock can bring staff closer and obscure the animal’s route.

What if the snake has gone?

Call with the last sighting and time. Do not dismantle stored materials or enter a roof, drain or underfloor space. Ask the team whether a visit is useful and what charges apply if the animal cannot be located.
