Snake Catcher Blacktown and North-West Sydney

Western Sydney is too large for one travel-time promise. This guide starts with Blacktown and the north-west, then points you to the right local information for Parramatta, the Hawkesbury, Penrith and Macarthur. Call with your exact address to check catcher availability.

Before a catcher arrives

Keep people and pets away. Do not touch, corner or disturb the snake. Tell us its last visible position, access details and whether anyone may have been bitten.

Call to confirm the fee, what the attendance covers and current availability.

The north-west changes from street to street

Across Blacktown, the older suburbs and newer growth areas contain a mix of developed land and remnants of Cumberland Plain woodland. Further towards the Hawkesbury, waterways and rural holdings become a stronger part of the picture. A snake sighting on a building site needs different access arrangements from one inside an established home.

When calling from Riverstone, Schofields, Marsden Park or the surrounding district, use the complete street address. If it is a new estate or a large commercial parcel, add the gate, lot or site entrance and a contact who can meet the catcher safely. Do not assume a marketing estate name is enough to find the property.

Different habitats, different possibilities

Open grassy land is relevant habitat for eastern brown snakes; wetter creek and dam edges may suit red-bellied black snakes. Wooded country can also support diamond pythons. These are broad habitat associations, not a way to decide which species is on your property. See the Australian Museum accounts for eastern browns, red-bellied blacks and diamond pythons.

The strongest booking information is the most recent sighting. Say if you are reporting a visible animal, an old photograph or a concern after hearing a noise. These situations call for different expectations about inspection and capture.

When construction or deliveries are involved

Pause activity in the affected part of the site and keep staff away. Do not move earth, pipes or pallets to expose the animal. Explain inductions, locked compounds and access restrictions before attendance so the catcher does not arrive at an unusable entrance.

For a residential job, keep pets secure and leave the last known hiding spot undisturbed. Our dispatch guide explains how a call is assessed and attendance arranged. A competitive call-out fee applies.

Industrial sites in Huntingwood and Arndell Park

For a warehouse, loading area or multi-tenant yard, use our Huntingwood worksite snake guide or Arndell Park warehouse and shift-handover guide. Both explain how to identify the correct entrance, retain the last-seen information and keep workers and vehicles clear.

Our commercial snake-removal service covers attendance arrangements. The documented Seven Hills warehouse-yard response provides a genuine regional example, without implying a call-out in either suburb.

Medical and veterinary help

Suspected bite to a person: call Triple Zero (000) immediately. Keep the person still and follow the ambulance operator’s instructions. Do not wait for a catcher or try to catch the snake for identification.

Blacktown Hospital has a 24-hour emergency department on Blacktown Road. Hospital information is provided for reference; a suspected snakebite needs an ambulance call.

Possible bite to a pet: contact a vet immediately, even if you cannot see a bite mark. SASH Western Sydney, 1 Rowood Road, Prospect. Open 24/7 for emergencies. Call (02) 8609 9444.

These services are independent of Snakes in the City. Contact details checked September 2026.

How far west can a catcher come?

Call with the suburb and address. We will check current availability and access rather than treating a broad coverage map as a guarantee. If your address is in the mountains, use the lower-mountains guide and make the location clear; it does not promise attendance throughout the entire Blue Mountains.
